MECC Trust’s Energy Café is a free drop-in service offered in Birmingham where residents can receive one-to-one advice on energy use, bill management, and accessing grants to reduce household costs. Held at locations such as MECC Trust on Court Road, Hutton Hall, and the Khidmat Centre, these sessions include hot drinks and a welcoming atmosphere to make the advice accessible. Meeting with a trained advisor can help you reduce energy usage, improve heating efficiency, and find support schemes that could lower your bills and combat fuel poverty.
Who hosts the Energy Service Café?
Heather and Fahreen.
MECC Trust’s Energy Cafés are important because they help tackle fuel poverty and support vulnerable households struggling with rising energy costs. By offering free, in-person advice, they empower residents to better understand their energy usage, access financial support, and make their homes more energy-efficient.
These cafés create a friendly and non-judgmental space where people can receive practical help—especially those who may not have internet access or the confidence to seek support online. Ultimately, they promote financial resilience, warmer homes, and improved wellbeing for local communities.
MECC Trust’s Energy Advice Cafés are hosted at three community locations across Birmingham, providing residents with easy access to free, face-to-face energy support and guidance.
